Was feeling a little low on morale today, with all the usual nuances of life, which tend to make it boring and then u tend to end up asking the inevitable question i.e. why do i do all this?

Surely there’s more to life than just doing all this routine crap , is the purpose of life just to work for others..?? or maybe just live a good life and be dead once game’s up?? Or live it just for the sake of doing it ??

So i ended up remembering a poem. It is considered one of the most inspirational poems ever and has been authored by HariVansh Rai Bachchan [Bachchan Sr]

By the very look of this post you’d say this is penned or rather keyed in by some dumb ass moron ,lame loser , even a nerd  may be, well let me clarify things a bit……..i’m straight [ yes i do get the hots for beautiful women and attractive women] and no i’ve not broken up with anyone or anything, infact i know by declaring that i’ve never had a girl friend , i’m doing the lamest and most loser things to do in most parts of the world, but this being my blog…i dont give a damn…. read between the lines : i tried like hell, but the grapes are sour…!!!

So this is to all the ”STAGS” out there like me who enjoy their lives as they wish and also to the female readers,who are understanding enough that they even bother to check this out[so please take this in light humour :)]…here goes:-

1. Save Time :-  The biggest truth, you can have the whole of ur time for urselves, no more time spent on shopping or listening to coochie talk….:)..or picking her up, and did we forget the shopping sport : statutory warning– shopping is not a sport and it is injurious to ur wallet.
2. Can sleep well:-  yeah practially speaking i’ve seen friends of mine getting up at 2 am to pick these calls…plus when u wrk more in the night and then ur girl calls u up in the morning to give u those sweet wakeup calls ….when all u want is to be bloody left alone to doze off for another hour or so.
3. Don’t have to worry about missed calls :- 10 missed calls == hallelujah……the devil save ur arse….coz some 1 is very very angry.
4. Don’t have to worry about how you look :- pajamas to the mall–who cares, not shaven for a week= not to worry, need a haircut– dont be silly.
5. Can eat in any restaurant :- better order pizza at ur place and do the  “dale raho==not getting up the entire day”..or have milk and biscuits or dont even bother about doing anything at all…..
6. No boring SMS in the middle of the night :- couples are like chocolates made in factory , everything seems alike but each one ends up differently……..kya…??? i bet u didnt get it ……right???? not to worry neither did i….
7. Can talk to all girls :- i’ll give u the killer alterantive, u can stare at all gals….& i mean it..those bombshell gals u just saw at the movies, the girl in the elevator, the one next to ur cubicle, the lass in ur class, ur neighbourhood chick……everything goes ……
8. You wont hear “Awww, you are dull today:- am i now…?? wat crap…this makes me feel like i’m chicken….like i’m the side dish to a certain main course of a 3 course meal….dont u…???
9. Can go anywhere with anyone :- remember those boy’s night outs..okay i need’nt be gender specific…remember those gals night out ….okay okay remember the friends party….or the roadtrip with colleages.
10. Don’t have to listen to same old crap jokes :- i cud’nt find any dumb jokes to fit in here, so if u have anything  good enough, do let me know.

Bonus:You will live a longer life….so enjoy folks……

As a courtsey to all folks who’re not so single , i think i may have to do a ” 10 advantages of having a girlfriend” post sometime.

We often watch movies involving roadtrips and say ” i wish i  could just drop all this stupid stuff i’m stuck in and just take a break and get away.”

Well i just got lucky enough…had a friend’s wedding….which i was more than glad to attend..because i used to hate weddings as a kid….i found them simply too melodramatic and boring….and so  had shied away from weddings for a really long time, but that was 7 years ago.And in case any of u folks are wondering….i’m just 23 for godsake…and totally uninterested in  marriage……[ and moreover i'd have to find a female in the 1st place...]

And anyways i could’nt dare say “NO ” to my pal and get shot for not coming….LOL….and add to that, this was ging to be a College reunion..so i could’nt escape…and moreover i did’nt want to this time. 

So i was thinking that this would be another of those boring trips , when u spent

the majority of ur time dozing off…

and thats when one of my pals suddenly figured out that that i was going to turn 23 on the way back i.e. at midnight….and evry1 was eager to get our asses moving…me included.

I got a few really gr8 pictures on the way …and who on earth says India is not beautiful, and is always filled with filth and dirt….well those who say so….u guys are wrong..Blatantly wrong…!!!

Okay so i’ll cut the crap and move with post…..well the wedding was a big hit….considering that i was the whiny ass….but actually  i really enjoyed the whole thing…The DJ being very good.

 Coming back to the post….well we started out in the morning[Yeah i did take a bath..i was going to a wedding for christsake...LOl ] ..it was a 7 hour drive…took just 4 breaks …with a few breaks for nature’s calls ….and yeah we found this little stream by one of the highways….i was thinking of taking a dip…but that would have meant another delay.Anyways there was also this ” spot the hottest girl around contest”

whoever managed to take a snap of the most beautiful lass seen while on the road…without us having to stop would win…and obviously since i was not careful enough…i did’nt win…LOl…so me n my buddy had to treat the winner to a beer..

Post breakfast..we managed to take a few snaps….we had almost a year of catching up to do..since all of us college buddies had’nt seen each other for a year…..so the blaring music was replaced with some music which u listen to when on long drives…one of these tracks being a few ghazals ” Koi Fariyad ” was played a lil too many times……interspersed with slow tracks by The Corrs and Maksim and the Summer of 69…okay we were all nostalgic about college…

We stopped for quick lunch….but eventually ended up eating a unusually large lunch…i’m must tell u…after having travelled India north to south and all over central India and the east…[onlyBihar n W Bengal]..that some of the most delicious food is served in numerous roadside dhabas [ like the one above ] which u find in the middle of nowhere on the National and state Highways. Just so that u people know, we initally had panner mushroom and matar malai palak..it was finger lickin good [thank u for the tagline KFC]….but could’nt help ourselves and asked for kadhai Paneer….all this coupled with roti’s , butter and mint chutney was like heaven……When u stay away from Mom’s food for 4-5 years..and one day get food like this…u just cant help urselves…i know u must have started cursing me…for mentioning all that….and feeling hungry by now….!!!!!

All 3 of us were overloaded …but we got half a dozen aloo paranthe packed for the road ……..in case we got hungry again!!!!! …..which we obviosly were by another 2 hours….this was when we had the big fight…..ofcourse…evry1 wanted to doze off…but some1 had to stay awake.. but after a meal like that ….u feel like u wanna hit the bed instantaneously.

Okay i was the one who lost the toss and remained awake …..but i took this opportunity in finishing off half the aloo paranthe with pickles…..the poor blokes who woke up later looked at me with threatning eyes… but were told to piss off….coz i was the one who had to stay up….right ppl…???  lol

we got to the wedding by 2 pm.I wont go into the wedding details except that we did eventully manage to eat the feast…coz after dancing like hell for 3 hours in the “baraat”  procession i managed to digest a lot…

The wedding over….we all bid farewell to the new couple ….our chum and the new bhabhi…and yeah i was the one who was given the task of handing the groom the contraceptives….[ Thank heavens , i did'nt mention any names here..] or i would have been killed…..surely.

We left at 11 pm…another pal of ours hitching a ride with us on the wayback….

I was really sleepy and dozed off[ having eaten like a fatso and dancing like an animal]…..so did the 2 others in the back..but then suddenly it was 12 a.m….

We parked by the side of the National Highway 3..fully deserted ….not even a light in sight except for the moon….and nothing available in a radius of 30 Kms….

So as was the norms in our Engg days…i  was dragged out …and given the birthday bombs[read kicks on the butt]…..My back and ass are still sore as i type this….

And since nothing else was available..a bottle of mineral water was emptied on my head….i’ll tell u here that the temperature outside was freezing….but who listens to the birthday boy anyways!!!!!!

But for a second i thought i was back in college in 2006….the parties , the friends, the mayhem and din….i felt nostalgic….but then there were rounds of ” Happy Birthday yaar/buddy/mate” , before the birthday bombs ” Round II”.

But this was one of the best and most weirdest and wackiest things i’d ever done in a while…try this sometime….and i assure u…its really great…[ okay stop sniggering, i'm talking about the roadtrip birthday and not the kicks on the butt]

Then came the calls…..many of them…i really hate the guy who hit upon the idea of roaming….not that i spoke on the phone any less….The next stop was a small tea stall…and the b’day celebrations were nothing but a ” cut chai” at 3 a.m. and cold buicuits[ Nothing else was available] & the company of old buddies…and ofcourse the small fire for warming ur hands…  We got back at 5:30 a.m….and went to sleep.By the time i got up, it was a 1 pm…And i had to catch a train back to Delhi in 2 hours…so packed everything and a quick lunch later i was on the Train…the Intercity Exp. The rest of my 23rd B’day was spent on the train [ read uneventful n boring except for friends calling up and wishing me....i agian hate the guy who introduced Roaming] till i disembarked at 7 a.m. the next morning…

Thinking for a moment …i went on a journey and came back older………now i’m no philosopher, so i leave u with this….so thats it for this post..

FACTS : When J.K.Rowling confirmed the title of her 7th and final installment in the Harry Potter Series as “Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows” on December 22 in 2006, the world was gripped in yet another Potter mania.

Within days of this rumour spreading like wildfire there were franctic internet searches by all die hard Potter fans worthy of their name to google and ask the internet of all leaked or drafted versions of the 7th and final book.

The phenomenon is unprecedented. There are at least 20 book-7 versions out there, some in Greek n Italian. Never before in the history of literature has an author been FAKED with this magnitude.Faking an author is a brand new phenomenon; we are talking “Potter Forgers!”.Well keeping in mind the kind of revenue that is underlying with the release of this whole book, this is taken to astronomical heights.And we’re talking about the final part of a Mega series that has been in Print and Cinema for over 10 years now.The hype is surreal.

I have been searching and reading all leaks of book 7 plus fanfics, okay i have to admit here , that initially i was’nt much of a Potter enthusiast myself, but not untill i started reading the different versions of the leaked books and some of the Fanfics , now i’m in.

 On hindsight i thought i’d post two very interesting and funny versions which i found during my long hours of potter fanfic xploration.No matter how much we may disregard these writers, but the fact remains that they have brought out the inherent values we wished some of our characters had and provided an alternative version of the same story.We will always be grateful to JKR for this series.

The Indian media which is very much an important factor in our lives today .
But is it worth the reputation it carries….?

I was watching the election results for the UP assembly elections on some News channel over the weekend , and i was really blown over by what these so called gaurdians of the society [ our Indian media was reporting].

The report said that the ananlysis and dissection of the poll results can be easily summarized into who the “different vote banks” voted for this time around.

They had these detailed analysed results of who ‘the Dalit’s , the muslims and the hindu uppercasts’ had voted for.
They also seemed to depict evry thing using these pie charts and diagrams.. and had made up these reports for the different polled areas..

But what surpirsed me was the lengths at which these channels
[ Incidentally all of these channels had the same news item] had gone to diclose to the viewer the result of the so-called secret ballot in the assemly elections.

I was dumbfounded.. they kept on showing more reports of who the brahmins, dalits & muslims vote n why..and why mayawati has been winning etc etc…

Now c’mmon .. the one of most important questions here is , Why have secret ballots in the 1st place.. i mean if ur bent on showing who evry1 votes for.. by demarcating differences as hindus,muslim.. and uppercaste & lowercaste….then we really need to check this unhealthy journalism….becoz its promoting what India has sought to
eradicate for the past 60 years….we’ve been trying ot remove all this unequality.
I’m not against showing/displaying results based on regions, but why this split based on such a criterion…?

But hell no…. they wont allow it.. just for sake of sensationalizing a news report marked ” BREAKING NEWS “, they’ll just do about anything …to get those TRP’s.

Then the other day there was this report about Dayanidhi Maran [the cabinet minister]
being asked to resign by the DMK after a show cause notice and then being asked to come back..
There was so much of speculation about what he would do and what would happen to him..etc

and they also mentioned that this was a fight due to differences withing the family n all… an that the fight was between the sons and the cousins…. but that’s when u feel, that instead of reporting that there’s a fight going on between who’s gonna take the chair.. and the very obvious fact that .. Mr. Karunanidhi wanted his son to go places rather than his nephew….that was blatant….

But no the media would’nt dare to uncover such “in-the-face” truths.. all they want to report is on things which would further divide the masses .. by showing who the different sections are voting for… rather than reports of so n so won.. thereby prejudicing their minds…..
Are they scared of being manhandled .. or goons from the politicians … if they have such news items on theier channel.?

One cannot merely ignore the fact that viewing such reports .. can make significant changes in people’s preception of things, without them actually knowing it.

Is it not time time the media practised restraint..and put value into what it is actually reporting….
which again reminds me of the case of Abhishek - Aish marriaga saga….Okay people the world over get married, and many a fan would definitely wanna watch it for sure.. magar bless us.. why do such things make it to the main headlines…”The Breaking News ” section………..??

For godsake.. covering such a event is one things .. but doing dumb things and blowing things out of proportions is another .. thats where our media excels…kudos to that…hmmmm..what crap…bah

Get real folks.. and stop acting like the papparazzi…. its irksome to have such a media..which is sensationalizing news ..n creating news instead of just reporting it.

Kab tak jhelna padega ye sab..????

Believe us ,No 1 wants to watch all this junk shit.. n if ur more credible regarding ur reputation..or are as dependable as the fame, it might help in the long run…

Well i had a lil free time and so was wondering why do people write blogs…

we all have seen the immense crowds of bloggers on the web these days, every 2nd person ho uses the internet is now a blogger,and if u believe in what blog sites are doing to get more people blogging , it’ll be like a atleast a blog for a person…. as in for all those who are internet savvy.. or are potential internet users….

hmmmmm ……,

that is like millions of blogs in the blogosphere….i’m already feeling lost…

well may be its all for the better as they say…more blogs … more focus on issues we can hardly imagine to focus on…and that means … there’s a whole lot more to read than what we could earlier get our hands on….
now that is a cheerful prospect.aint it???

okay now back to square 1..lets analyze the question here..
why do people blog…….??? i guess its because :-

a)people want to vent their inner feelings, frustrations,joy,happiness,doubts and need solace in what others think about their views in general

b)everyone wants to let others know ,that they too can voice their opinions and thereby prove that they’ve got something inside the topmost anatomical feature of their body..

c)escape being clubbed into the “ignorant masses who dont blog and being considered unaware and internet blind ” in the 21st centure ,which is considered to be the digitally aware age.

d)possibly let others read their thoughts and thus gain a reputation for themselves, and get on the fast track wave of getting famous.

it might be also a combination of any one of the above reasons.

well for all those happy go lucky bloggers… it all hardly matters.. and i’d rather say it should’nt…

Ofcourse sometimes we marvel what at mere power wielded by blogs… for example during Operation Iraqi Freedom…there was no iraqi point of view available ..inspite of the hordes of reporters..there was a blog maintained by an iraqi national ..he was happy by the way the war progressed, and provided snaps etc..

that was the first time i thought i’d try myhand at blogging too.. but i see that it hasn’t been of much effect though,except for torturing the reader…[:)]

well i’m new at writing a blog , coz this is my 1st time, but i’d definitely give it try ,so here goes…

so well I was back in class Xth [10th grade], at this place called wellington , in ooty, thats in T.N.  India, ( for those who good in geoghraphy), so yeah, well we had this really gr8 band of friends, doing evrything from sharing secrets, candies, lunch,gawking at gals,screwing up things & what not. We were 7 frnds all from different parts of the country & all really naive , small guys learning about everything from algebra & nanotech to sex & gals..

So we were this really good bunch of friends, ahhh i forgot , i’d better name the guys [Only the nicknames] ( sorry guys ….please dont kill me 4 this ) so there was  sam , shantaka , nik , bumpy ,  raka aka kata murga, chini , negi and parsu [me].

Thinking back now,teenage guys have a tendency to mob around each other rather than move about alone…something to do with the teenage boys pyschology ..like sticking around together, going to each other’s place at lunch time,buying peppermints daily,watching porn..{well ok ..evry1’s been through those wonderful teenage years now} , devouring lunch….[ inspite of the large amounts we ate...evry1 was skinny..a few outright bony..LOL] , playing those action packed games like Commando and wolf and big daddy [ i guess games like Max Payne , Hitman , Halo n company were'nt designed back then] . Another of our all time favourite task on our daily things to do list was just..sit back n relax and do nothing at all…..its really not as easy as u might presume.

I really wonder now, but our consumption of peppermints was around 2 packets per guy, & imagine each packet having 10 mints, i guess we were solely responsible for the promotion of that particular commodity there . Any average school day would start with us reaching the school premises, shantaka , raka,nik, negi arriving early ,& me , sam , chini , bumpy being late as usual [somedays it would be the other way around ] & standing in the offenders line for punishments while, these guys sneered at us ofcourse,and we’d be muttering to ourselves that we’d get back @ them soon, and ofcourse showing them the middle finger….[:)]

On completion of our round of punishments  i.e.  either miss a class or stand in the sun, or run around the campus , or worse get ur parents, we’d get back tired & blabber endlessly about , how screwed the school is, & the way it was being run, then before we had our 1st class , it was a routine rite to open one of our lunch packs & finish evrything,
then came the classes, all 4 of them , we use to write down or listen to everything being taught with gr8 interest/Disinterest ,( u could make it out by the way guys looked at u) ,then came lunch. the usual hangout time,going to the mini market, which was a place near by, buy loads of goodies…mint and candies for instance…or simply sulk around if nebody flunked an xam..or something.Those were the good days when you could really understand the value of the 10 Rupee bill.

On the way back  chatting about girls was a must, not neccessarily about the ones in class, but any eager starlet seen on Late night TV the previous day wearing skimpy clothes and doing steamy scenes…now all those female readers out there..u’ll jsut nod ur heads and say….we always said all guys r the same…” Bloody dogs”. But u’ve got to keep growing up n hormones in ur mind before you scream …

I dont know if u’ve had this feeling of feeling xtremly sleepy just after lunch. Sleeping was’nt an option on the cards coz to be frank.. the class strenghth was around 30 , plus my seat was among the not so back benchers.. thats bcoz , the rest of group insisted on sitting in back permanently.. so i cud’nt even doze off….anyways my pitiable situation /suffering was soon put to an end as , the bell would ring and we’d have another free period .. notable among them being the games period .. which was an all time favourite…
